First Practice Times for 2020-2021 Announced!

Hello Cougars!

The first practice times for the 2020-2021 season have been scheduled. Please check your email!

Please keep in mind that these groups will not stay together. If your friends are not with you, don’t worry. We will change it up again next week.

Teams will not be finalized for at least two weeks into the season. Our Coaches would like the chance to know all the kids better first.

We will not start our regular games until early November so there’s no massive rush. We need to make sure our teams match up just right so we all have the best time on the ice.

A separate email will be sent out explaining practice plans and outlining the dressing room procedures that we will need to follow at Spraylakes.

It’s going to be a fantastic season and we can not wait to get started!

2020/2021 New Player Registration Opens on June 20th!

Attention Newcomers.

Registration for all new players wishing to join the Cochrane Cougars can do so on Saturday, June 20th, 2020 beginning at 12PM (noon). All information pertaining to registration and parent volunteer committment can be found at the links below:

Events Postponed Until Further Notice

Cougar families,

All events planned for this weekend will need to be postponed as I’ve been notified by Hockey Alberta they are shutting down all sanctioned events.

We will definitely reschedule once things have calmed down.

I will send out an update next week regarding season wrap up plans and our upcoming fundraiser.

Can any families who have not yet volunteered please send me a quick email or text message.

We have a few areas we are looking for help in and we do not want to cash any cheques. 😊

Stay warm & Stay Healthy.

Raffle Ticket Information

I want to thank all those who donated for our 3rd annual liquor raffle!!

Liquor Donation and fundraising is mandatory in our league. Our registration fees are exceptionally low considering the high cost of running our program. We will spend approximately $45,000 in ice rental fees this season and our insurance fees will run us approximately $6,200 this season, which totals just over $51,000 in expenses alone.

I will be posting a more detailed break down on the website for those of you interested in why we need to fundraise.

Here is what you need to know about the raffle tickets

  • Each player is only responsible for selling 15 tickets
  • Each family with 2 or more players is only responsible for selling 25 tickets

Tickets are $5 each. Ticket purchasers need to write their full name & address (town) and contact info on the small stub. They may keep the other half of the ticket.

Players must return all sold ticket stubs with purchaser info by December 8th

All stubs must be returned so we can ensure a legal raffle.

Payment for sold tickets can be returned in cash or by e-transfer no later than December 8th, 2018.

  • 15 tickets – $75 is required
  • 25 tickets- $125 is required

If you are unable to sell your tickets, ask your team to help support you in getting yours sold. THAT’S WHAT TEAMS ARE FOR!

This is by far the most brilliant fundraiser ever. Plain and simple LIQUOR SELLS!

Many of you may find you need MORE tickets. If that is the case, please do the following ….

Text me 403-613-6258.  I have approximately 60 extra tickets – That’s it!!

Send out a message to your teammates to see if anyone needs help. You can email your team manager to help you with this if need be.

Post a request on the Cochrane Cougars closed Facebook group. If you have not joined yet… Do it now !!

** You are responsible for ensuring your ticket stubs are returned regardless of who sells them.

A $50 Credit to the Cougars online store will be given the individual who sells the most raffle tickets

Photos of each of the prizes will be posted on the Facebook page throughout the remainder of the week.

Prizes will be drawn on December 14 and winners will be notified immediately.

All ticket buyers must be 18 or older and be residents of Alberta.

Finally, A special thank you to ur super cool and talented coaches Jordan Nielsen & Kory Gach for building the beautiful crates for each of the basket prizes.

Thanks so much!

PS. For those who can’t make it on November 9th, Perry will be have a make-up date depending on how many players can’t attend. The Date will be communicated as soon possible.

Thank You!

Thanks for Coming!

It was so awesome to connect with so many of our Peewee and Bantams during our ‘Check us Out’ event on May 4th!

This week we’ve been overwhelmed by the number of returning players. In fact, with sibling registration we have gained more players then we had last season.
This is A HUGE DEAL! We are so happy to have most of you back next season.

It’s spring and many of you are starting baseball, soccer or maybe Rugby. That is fantastic! We have a ton of great programs to choose from in Cochrane!

While you are in the stands or on the sidelines, please remember to share your experience with our program.
Most of our new registrations come from word of mouth and we appreciate it so much!!

Get out there and enjoy the Sunshine!
